Yes, I tried different pickup heights with no luck. Anyway, I have kept the neck because is reverse wounded and in the middle position you have no hum. However, neck and bridge do not mix well, too muddy. I'd need independent volume controls.
Incidentally, why do so many pickup manufacturers not bother to stamp on the bottom who made the pickups and what model they are?
I don't know. The Fender OV bridge that I have now is not marked at all either.
But it's true, they can sound great on one guitar, and terrible in another guitar. They work best with ash/sen bodied guitars, in my experience. They were awful in my US Strat, but great in my sen Springy, so they do work in Japanese guitars!
My CIJ52 is ash and no way with TS. Now with the OV Bridge it sounds great but it is one of those exaggerated Telecasters with too much twang :grin:
