Just a little follow up. It says 4 N under the neck pickup.
I don't know what that would mean.

That is apparently some type of internal production code. I have seen a bunch of them with hand written codes in this period. Not sure what 4N would mean. N is not the color since yours looks like VF or violin finish. It may relate to an order or a batch of guitars.

I think I will start a thread for handwritten codes. They seem to be of a certain period.

Will gather a bunch and see if there is a pattern.
