Here's my Tokai V (thanks Gottfried). Mine's an 84 if I'm not mistaken. Not so sure about yours being a 79 - it's awfully shiny, new and white to be that old. What is the serial number?

Seller says serial number is 9001994 , which makes it a 1979 ?? :roll:

900xxxx is also for 1990.The V in this auction has a black headstock,when you look in catalogs,the mid '80's came with white headstock.

Thare is some overlap regarding '79 and 90 years. I have a discussion with an spanish guy some time ago regarding this and I was right but he was not aceppting this altough he finally did. You can tell both years looking at headstock but it?s very very subtle....

Don't know if the V's had 60, 80, 100 etc stamped on the last fret like the Springy's and Love Rocks, Reborns, etc.

We have the entire 78 catalog in the dating and ID section. Didn't see a V in it and I'd bet the same for 79.

I don't think the V's showed up til the 80's. I'd bet money that that one was a 90 model.

Hi guys,

Flying V's weren't made in 1979 or 1980.
They were a prototype in early '82 being released later that year for the 1983 Production Range.
900xxxx would have to be a 1990 model.
