Wow all of a sudden we have a pile of "new" experts..
"E" pickups ARE Dimarzio.
I agree with Mr.Grecoburst here. It looks that way no doubt.

Sushi guy, you come on and ask a question and all of a sudden you know everything, keep asking questions as you don't know a thing..

Grecoburst, your info is flawed, and as far as not being able to substantiate anything, well thats plain rubbish, there are a number of long term members here that deal directly with Tokai and thats where our info comes from, as well as Japanese agents for Tokai and current and past luthiers, Got anything more to offer.??

Fun and games on the forum again...

Sorry Mick. I am just learning and enjoying talking a lot here since.
It's just some excitement when we are learning something new and
valuable. It feels like life is more open then. Anyway sorry about
whatsoever. Enjoying joining here right now. That's all.

Like i said "E" pickups ARE Dimarzio, this info comes form Tokai and is quite easy to get hold of.
http://www.tokaiguitar.de/content_images/S2.jpg

This link is from the European Tokai distributor, i will take his word over anything you "new" people have to say, so before you go on about something you know absolutely nothing about try searching the site for all the relevant information. I am in regular contact with Tokai and Tokai luthiers in Japan, and Ozeshin and I are building a site about Tokai fakes. If you were a smart guy you would sit back and read instead of jumping on the bandwagon of a member that isn't willing to prove what he has to say.

Well leadguitar323, you of course can believe who u like, but, the guy is not quite right with his info, and he has not translated correctly

E stamped pickups are commonly referred to in Japan as ST-A, U stamped pickups referred to as ST-B nothing more nothing less....

And DiMarzio are only found in 1982 ST100 and above, and the SS80 silver star.

Like I said before, once something like this happens in a 'discussion' forum, somebody from the 'old firm' or 'establishment' are just too far set in their ways not matter if the information is correct or not, they just rely on well, i would believe this member here over a new one....hehehe....u gotta be kidding me. Not in a discussion forum, or what is supposed to be a discussion forum. But hey, he thinks he is right, and i think i am right so...it's a no win in the end. Only those who can translate correctly will really know.

Enjoy your lovely Tokai!

Ok Mick. You sound like the man here so keep on helping us please.
We don't know much about Tokai and other old japanese companies
yet like we do so much about the famous US companies. Wish there
are much more official infos in English. So many guitars so little
infos I guess......Anyway sorry and peace!

Ok Mr.Grecoburst. So the truth is that since 1977 until 1981 and to later
the higher class Tokai pickups both ST-A" and "ST-Vintage" all had "E"
stamp on them? And the lower class pickups like "ST-B" and "ST-Hot"
had "U" stamp on them? Do you know what "E" & "U" stands for????
You must be the specialist. Keep on helping us please. Thanks.

Not even gonna buy into this shitfight....Grecoburst and Sushi guy...if the longterm posters collectively tell you that 'E' stamped pups are Dimarzio then you can bet it's correct...thank them for clarifying and answering your questions and move the hell on..!!!

Greco burst, you have no idea at all, the guy i refer to has the biggest Tokai collection in Europe and has been a Tokai dealer and a collector for longer than he probably cares to say, our info comes from Tokai and has been researched long and hard, you on the other hand have a pile of claims and no information to support it. Come back when you have your "proof".
My info out of Japan does not need to be translated as it comes in English.
There is a guy on this forum, Peter Mac, he has been writing a book about Tokai's for some years, he is meticulous in his search for knowledge and also confirms that these are Dimarzio. You need to prove they are not.

Mick

Ok Mick and Ozeshin. Grecoburst and I should be cool now.sorry we didn't mean to cause anything bad here. I was just asking him many questions.
Who are the ones who knows so much here? maybe I should ask them most of my questions. Tell me their names so i won't be wrong. Thanks!

I have been reading your posts mate and the best advice i can give you is to do some searching and have a read, most of the info you want is on this site. We are not blind to new information but after years of research and first hand knowledge it will take more than few unsubstantiated posts to change anything here.

Mick

Greco burst...provide me your"Man on the inside's" info in Japanese and i will translate it 'accurately".
I've lived trained and traveled in Japan and Okinawa for many years and speak, read and write fluently.
So far we're the only ones here providing proof to support our evidence...time to put up or STFU....sheesh.
Be advised I'm just about ready to lock this thread....so either provide YOUR proof or I'll lock this ******** thread to avoid anymore grief.

Ok Mick. I do and thanks.

I was wondering this since you are the man here.
Do you have any vintage Tokai in your collection?
I am sure you have many guitars but I want to see
some fine vintage Tokais and Grecos if possible.....

Once again do a search, i have a rare ST-70 with "E" stamped Dimarzio's, a 1 of 6 made Ls 180 made with Honduras mahogany and made by one of Tokai's top luthiers and a 1 off gold top custom order, also made from Honduras mahogany and made again by the same guy, and if Grecoburst is curious i have had these guitars confirmed in a email by the Luthier that made them.

Mick

Nah he's fine Sushi....I just have little tolerance for arguments these days and if it drags on for too long...no matter WHO the posters are I lock the thread...if it's going around in circles and getting us nowhere I'll nuke it.

I'm STILL waiting for you to return that Goldie to it's rightful new owner pal...

Mick.....If you don't mind then can i see any pic of your rare ST70?
I really wanna see any rare Tokai vintage one. Especially Strat and
Les Paul.....Thanks!

Well now that we know that Rock God Ozeshin is actually the spitting image of all-round cool blues dude Junior Watson, it's only right that he should play an LP GT.
