Hi everybody - It's been a while...
What would my 1990 LS-55 Gold Top in good condition probably fetch, if I decided to sell it?

Hard to say. I had one years ago that I got for cheap, around $500.

The one I had was always a mystery. It had no serial number and features like a hybrid Korean build.

Can you post pictures of it?

Here is the one I had.

Mine was Made in Japan in 1990, serial No. 9002**. I bought it in 2009 for 555 Euros, which would be 710 adjusted for inflation today.
It's in very good condition, except for some minor dong on the cutaway horn, which was already ther when I got it.
I do have the pickguard.
Here are some pics:

You might put it in a well publicized auction like on eBay and let the market decide what it’s worth?

Hello Sigmania,
thanks for the Reverb links - I hadn't seen those when I checked there, but I'm certainly not giving mine away for 489,69 Euros like the 1995 one from Russia. The one from Spain for 435 Euros is a Korean model (3 screw TRC). 829,92 Euros (plus shipping - and tax, if sold to the EU) for the one from the UK seems to be more in the ballpark to me
As for eBay, a good friend of mine who sells guitars for a living (mostly via www) told me that eBay is more or less dead for music gear.

So there’s your answer. You already know what you think your guitar is worth.

If you don’t like eBay, try Reverb. If you don’t like Reverb ask your friend who is an expert where and how to sell it.

The problem I have when I try to sell things on line is that people never seem to think my stuff is worth what I think it is. I honestly don’t know what’s up with that. When I was buying the same item there was competition at the price I bought it, but when I go to sell it… crickets.

Good luck with your sale.

And here is a 1990 LS55BB on eBay that I believe is being sold through a broker.

World wide audience.

Hello Sigmania,
thanks again very much for the input!
My guitar is in much better shape than the one on eBay. It's in the same condition than it was when I bought it in 2009, because it never left my living room since then.
The problem is, my guitar selling friend IS the person who wants to buy it and I'm trying to work out a price. ;-)
