Seller is saying it is a solid top in the description.

1979 Tokai LS-60 LespaulReborn Gekitora solid top, 1P? back

Description of item

Thank you for visiting.
This is the LS-60 with the LesPaul Reborn logo, sold in 1979 under the Tokai brand
.

Please read the following description carefully and make your own judgment before bidding.

This is a Tokai Les Paul type that began production in 1978, but until 1979, the word "Les Paul" was printed on the head as you can see, making it a very popular model overseas.

At this time, there were four models: LS-50, LS-60, LS-80, and LS-100.The LS-80 had lacquer paint and Fred Edge binding, and the 100 had DiMarzio PAF PU, so the higher-end models were still available. There was no model that featured the top as a selling point. (The same is true for Burny and Greco from the same period.)

Perhaps because of this, the LS-60 on display is a cautionary model, but it has a solid 2-piece center and a tiger top with flecks.

Also, the neck is made of 1P mahogany, and the back material may have a seam, but to an untrained eye, it looks like 1P. (Please check the pictures carefully as we cannot guarantee it.)

So it is an LS-60, but it looks like a high-end model from the 1980s. Up until 1979, there were occasional Tiger-topped LS-60s, but I think it's rare to find something this beautiful .

From my amateur opinion, there is no big warp on the neck, and there are no big dents on the frets. Since it is an old guitar, there are some small scratches and dents, but there are no noticeable scratches and I think it looks like a clean used item.

The PU and electrical system are completely original as shown in the photo, only the pegs showed a decline in functionality, so they were replaced with other ones. Original pegs are missing. Each PU produces sound without any problems.

The hard case shown in the photo is included, but please consider this as a bonus for shipping. Please consider that the strings when the product arrives are for checking the sound output. After checking , please attach the strings of your choice .

This is just the current item. We will not respond to any questions or complaints after a successful bid. If you are not satisfied with the terms, please refrain from bidding.

Tokai Les Paul types from this period were very popular overseas, and there are fewer of them in good condition in Japan, and prices are rapidly rising. This solid maple Tiger 2P top is extremely rare, and I think that in 10 years it will be a model that you will definitely not be able to buy at the current price. If you want one, why not take the chance and take advantage of this opportunity? There are individual differences in how the playability and sound feel, but personally I think this is one that I can see being rated higher than Gibson overseas.

Seems like I have seen this one before? I seem to recall that blemish in the back and wondered if the body was something other than mahogany?
