Is my bridge in the right spot? - '80 Reborn Old

The Faber bridge fit perfectly. But as I suspected, it allowed no more forward movement of the saddles than the original bridge did. So no help there. However that hammer did work as suggested. :-?

Is my bridge in the right spot? - '80 Reborn Old

Hmmm....that's an interesting thought. Are we trying to gently bend the studs? I have a Faber ABR on the way. I don't think that this will make a diff, but I'll give it a shot. If not, I'll ever so gently try your idea. :o

Is my bridge in the right spot? - '80 Reborn Old

My main concern is the D string. I just turned the E, A and D saddles around tonight, restrung and reintontated. The D is still flat and that saddle needs to go toward the nut. There is no more adjustment left. Even with the saddle turned around it is not enough. The other strings are ok...

Is my bridge in the right spot? - '80 Reborn Old

I am having weird intonation probs with my 1980 LS-50. I am starting to wonder if the bridge is in the right spot. I've run out of movement at the saddles. I need to take some of them even closer to the nut and there's no more adjustment left. Has this been a trend or an issue with these 29...

First Tokai - 1980 Reborn Old

So sorry, I thought that were Tokai covers. Gibby covers will not fit the Tokai pickups. Not 29 year old Tokai pickups anyway. Thanks Rw

    Reborn Old saddle pieces

Any tricks known to remove and turn around the saddle pieces in the tune-o-matic type bridge, on my Reborn? I am having intoantion issues with the guitar and want to try to turn the D, A and E saddles around, to gain a bit more sharpening on the intonation on those strings. There are some sort...

    pickup covers

No luck with the covers in the US. Tokai in the UK said they would sell some that would work. Have not persued that. Am taking a new course anyway. I THINK I am going to put Lollar Imperials into the Reborn Old.

    pickup covers

Oops  I MEANT 1 15/16" covers do not fit. Don't know where I came up with 1 11/16". Anyway, the spacing on the 1 15/16" is slightly too wide. I ordered a 42.8mm set from Mojotone but sadly they are on backorder. When I do get them and if they do fit, I will certainly make that known here.

Got Me A Reborn Ovah Here.

I would imagine that the '80 Love Rock is not that much different than the '80 Reborn. Good luck with it. Mine is pretty darn cool.

Got Me A Reborn Ovah Here.

"Looks like one of Hisashi's guitars." Yes he was indeed the seller. The rating of the fret condition may have been over-stated just slightly. The guitar is certainly playable but it needs a level and dress prett badly. Otherwise, everything was spot on. Again, I am very impressed with the...

Got Me A Reborn Ovah Here.

Thanks Alan! Yes it is a good looking guitar, isn't it? I am going to Pagey it up a bit and put a cover on the neck pickup and (maybe) paint the bobbin tops black on the back pickup. Its a thought anyway. I LOVE to swap pickups on guitars. However, these pickups sound really good to me as...

Got Me A Reborn Ovah Here.

An ebay auction. Seller was in Japan. Its a 1980 LS50 Reborn Old. Sort of a violin burst, 3 piece top. It was portrayed as and to the best of my knowledge is all original. Open humbuckers. The neck pickup has two rows of screwhead pole pieces and the bridge pickup has one row of screwheads and...

    Just learned it's a 1980 LS-60 Help ID'ing Reborn Old Model

I just acquired a 1980 Reborn LS-50 and I am finding it to be just awesome. The fit and finish is terrific, the neck feels great and the stock pickups sound wonderful.

    pickup covers

I bought a couple of nickel 1 11/16" covers and they are sure close, but just a bit too wide on the pole spacing. Sure looks cool with a cover on the neck pickup though. I've only had the guitar about a week now and continue to be WAY surprised at how good these stock pickups do sound. And I...
