Here?s a ?player?: my ?81 LS120 in Honey Burst.

Great, ?old? sounding Les Paul which has that dry/woody/zinghy thing that only a well played guitar has. It has been played a lot, with laquer tru-spots on the neck, but has been really cared for. It has had a refret and has lost the fretboard-nibs but the neck is in a great playing condition

It came with non-original pups and Grover Kidney-tuners. Changed pups to SD Antiquities (with the magnet flip on the neck-pup), pots/caps to CRL and Hovland, Faber-kit at the tailpiece but kept the original alu-tailpiece, Tonepros locking ABR-1 bridge and Gotoh Tulip tuners. I did some cosmetic matching between the older and newer parts.

Nice git Gerben! Wellcome to the forum, why haven't you posted earlier? Your Ls-120 is probably the nicest one I've ever seen. Really good color.

Do you think that the Tonepros bridge has an impact on the sound? I just got the Faber kit on mine LS-85 but just looked at the bridge today and thought there might be something better out there. Please tell us what you think. If it's not a huge improvement I might not bother.

But I have to say that your guitar is the first on here that really made me envious. Congrats. Mrr.

Hi Outsider
Thanks for the compliments, i appreciate it.

I don't want to hijack this thread with a discusion on tailpieces and bridges. So please PM me or contact me tru 69gerben at gmail dot com so we can discus this in private.

Regards,

Gerben

Here we go! A "togps custom" and a real clownburst LS85F. As I hate clownburst this guitar can be lucky that it?s so good sounding!

My LS125 (pictured further above) is pretty clowny as well, I didn't realise how much until I took the pictures outdoors. The lighting in the shop was pretty flattering. Never mind, I'll call her Coco and try to convince myself that I've always liked rhubarb and custard. Or go the LPF route and treat her to a block booking at the tanning salon ...... I don't suppose Tokai's fade, do they? Or are they like late 60's bursts?

Anyhoo, sweet guitars ACY and others - wish I'd gone the Tokai route ealier. Keep 'em coming.
