Will installing the pick guard devalue the guitar?

I like the look of a pick guard on a Les Paul but the thought of putting that one hole, in this maple, is tough .............

Best of both worlds:

Get a clear one, and you don't even have to worry about hiding that flame!

I used to think my love rock looked a little naked without the pickguard, but I didn't like the way they felt and I didn't want to take a power tool to the maple so my solution was zebra pickups. A less conventional look with plenty to stimulate the eye - you don't even notice the lack of guard!

i don't see anything wrong with installing a pickguard on that! (if done properly tho)
