Anyone able to decipher this signature? As I understand it, many of the Hamamatsu luthiers went unacknowledged, so I'm surprised to see what looks like a luthier signature on this label Kawai label

I am no Kawai expert, but at first glance I notice two things.

1. This does not look like a practiced signature. Seems very unsteady as though it's a one off.

2. The name seems to begin with "S" and end in "agawa" ?

Also some scribbling on the upper right corner of the label.

Hmmmm.

Kind of reminds me of a signature I had on a 1978 Ibanez FA200.

I have seen others with the same signature on Ibanez guitars from that period around 1978.

Would be great to know what yours says. This one is like M. Sugihara.
