Thinking I need to make a list.

There seem to be quite a few. Official and unofficial.

Honorable mention: Ron Wood.

He played a Springy on his 1981 tour that featured locking hardware similar to what Tokai offered on its guitars two years later in 1983. What they called "Extra Tokai".

In keeping with almost every other big MIJ brands there's the Tokai John Sykes model that was only made for a year or two in 1985:

These seem to be more scarce than other John Sykes models that seem to surface regularly. I still need to restore mine:

Clarence White Model

Clarence White CE1000S Model

Revival. Monster D28.

1934. In that year, 11 D28s were made, with necks that joined the body at the 14th fret and without the CF Martin logo on the headstock. The D28, one of which was modified by an unknown American craftsman for the late Clarence White, is the so-called Monster D28. The fingerboard inlay was removed, and the soundhole diameter was 110mm, even though it was a dreadnought. The Monster D28 is said to have brought out Clarence White's sensibilities to the fullest. The Cat's Eye Project team has taken on the challenge of creating a complete replica of this monster D28, and is now offering the CE1000S to avid acoustic guitarists.

●The 1981 catalog will be released in December.
