Hi, this is my first post.
I'm thinking about buying this Tokai ES-125, which has block inlays as you can see. Does anyone know what year it was made or any other information about it?

here's a pic

hi, thanks for the reply.

The serial number is 940154, and apparently that means it was made in 1994?

I've seen several pics of ES-125s with dot inlays, but none with block inlays that go all the way up to the nut.

Has anyone heard anything about these guitars? Also, what was the quality standard of Tokai ES 125s back in 1994?

Any info on this guitar would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

oh, so does that mean its not a Tokai? I got the number from the shop that's selling it

I do remember discussing this last year & seeing the bound f-hole Tokai's in England at Richtone. What was up that Volker?

I found it,seems to be legit.

Andy I think you will have to go back to the store and have a peek through the f hole and check what it says.

Oh yeah I see, it's same one as the one Vintaxe, it's marked 1990 over there but doesn't have the date on it.

I think my mind is made up. Thanks a lot guys.

If I get it I'll post pics.

Interesting that the current ES60s all have binding in the F holes...looks kind of neat.
The problem with the ES60s is they're too good. :)

Wow. So many strange variations in Tokai it's hard to keep track. Block inlays like a 355. That example looks an absolute beauty though. They haven't gone too heavy on the tobacco 'burst - as I think they do quite often.

Well I bought the guitar and I'm now waiting for it to arrive. Should be here in a couple of days.

In the meantime, the store sent me a pic of inside the f-hole.
