Hello everyone, I can't find which model this Tokai is, with five digits and a separated first number. It is a very beautiful model but I haven't been able to find anything on the web. Please take a look at the pictures. What do you think ? Nice day.

It is said in the ad there are Goto PAF inside.

edit : Gotoh PAF pickups

That’s very unusual. I suspect it is a Nagano built guitar. Probably an LC60M ( maple cap, volute, etc).

1980 LC60M

That headstock inlay is from model year 1982 so maybe made in late 1981?

Also, the tenon and tab route look atypical.

I don’t think it was made in Hamamatsu.

My two cents.

That is interesting, it's not a top end model for sure (80 and over) because pickups used are not dimarzio

Right. And the goto PAFs were phased out by 1982. There should be a letter stamp on the back of the pickup that indicates the model it was used in. I don't see it on that one photo.

I'm sure that it is a nice guitar with an unusual pedigree, but don;t pay a fortune for it.

Btw, does the seller mention a neck break? I am seeing some suspicious indications of one.

Also the hex poles indicate the LC Dynamic pickups and LC60 model.

Serial number format, control cavity route, pickup cavity routes, and short tenon with dowels are just like the 1981/82 Greco EGCs.

Sure but it's beautiful nad in perfect state, I think you can sell it for at least 1000€ on reverb. It could be the equivalent of a 600 model but custom made so higher quality

I don't know about "perfect state". Look at the pics I posted showing the neck around the volute. I would want to confirm that the neck wasn't broken at some point. Looks very suspicious.

I am not sure why you are saying that? Those are not high end pickups. See my earlier post about the pickups.

They are called LC Dynamic pickups. Note the hex poles. It is an LC60 as I said.

Yeah, so the question is who made the Grecos you mentioned? Lots of similarities between inkies and the Nagano Silver Stars with Greco and FujiGen builds.

No it is not, seller says there is no noticeable damage on the guitar
OK. I make it a habit to treat what any seller says with caution. I would ask for detailed pictures if you are serious about this guitar.

And it is a Nagano built guitar as I said. Basically an inkie.

Because I'm a guitar merchant and I want to import it to europe but it depends of the price it is sold at auction bid and the value of the guitar. The beauty of the guitar makes me think of an high end model and I've seen that 80 000 yen model could have goto pickups too
