1987/88 TE80A Custom Edition
Tokai TE80A "Custom Edition" TE120 export model ash body - 30,000 yen OFF | eBay
TE with abalone binding, which is the specification of TE-120 in Japan, is miraculously dead mint condition as TE80A for export.
While the domestic specification TE80 had an alder body and the TE120 had a sen body, the biggest feature of this product is that it has an ash body with an A in its product name.
In addition, the 1P maple neck has a fat neck grip, probably because it is for export, and it has a comfortable grip that is not too thick. It is also a nice point to come!
Similar to the TE120, the binding is made of abalone shells, the head logo is the Tokai Custom Edition script logo that was later adopted in Japan, and the pickup is original with the front TEA and rear TEB stamps.
Weighs 3.45 kg, and burns low chords with live sound! It has a pleasant sound and loud ringing unique to Ash, and a wonderful sound that reminds me of the plug-in sound that Telecasters should be like.

This neck was attached to the SJ503 dinky type around 1986 during the Tokai Custom Edition period.
It has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and a lock nut (however, the 5th and 6th strings are general-purpose by other companies).
The bridge for the lock nut is a TOKAI-specific installation specification that does not go through the back.
The neck is almost straight.
Frets have grooves on the low fret side, but become smaller and no grooves as you go to the high frets.
