Yo everyone,
What do you reckon the Greco tailpieces actually contains?
Did anyone look into that.
I have a guy over here claiming all Mint Collection has aluminum tail pieces.
But, I can't recall I ever had a "regular" MC with aluminum tailpiece.
So, either every single one I had had changed tailpieces or he is wrong.
Aren't they to heavy to be aluminum to start with?
Edit: just found an old thread on the subject.
FGT and SG are supposedly molding marks and usually found on Super Real era Grecos. They are some kind of zink alloy.
Someone wrote that MC over 59-70 have aluminum and lower Zink alloy.
However, the only higher MC with aluminum TP had an unmarked TP.
I have had quite a few high end MC and I can't recall that any of them had alu TP. Obviously I didn't check every single one but those I held in my hand were absolutely heavier than an aluminum TP.
Any more info on this subject since last year?
