NGD 1981 LS100S ON All Mahogany Love Rock

Mine is a '81 LS100S OR and its a one piece back with a one piece top.
There is a seam to see in the neck pup cavity.

Interesting. The way I am reading the translation I just did is that the LS100S OR is a one piece body which I take to mean the whole body since for the LS100S ON they talk about a one piece mahogany "top".

Looks like there are different specs WITHIN the 1981 Arched Top catalog!

In the drawings of the LC bodies and in the picture description of the LS100S ON the 1981 catalog says that they are one over one construction, and yet.... in the description of the LC100 with the photo they say they are a one piece body... Very confusing...

And then there is this from the same catalog....

And in the Spring 1982 catalog they are saying that the LS100S OR and the LC100 have a one piece body.

This settles it for me. S = Special Model, not Solid.

Second time I’ve heard this and this time it’s in writing in the Spring 1982 catalog.

“In addition, the special model, LS 100S, has two optional colors, Old Natural (ON) and Old Red (OR).”
