this may be of interest to a few people..I own a goldstar sound strat (84-ish, 50's copy)...it may be an st-40 as it had fairly cheap ceramic pups with flat poles. Anyway I took the plunge and bought a set of Lindy Fralin vintage hots from Torres Engineering in the USA (mail order as I'm in UK)..they are absolutely gorgeous pickups..balanced, chimey, stratalicious!!! 
..I love them and highly reccomend them ..although they do cost a lot!!..anyway my tokai now purrs like a pussycat and playing her has become an even more awesome experience...btw if you're thinking of ordering from the usa from the uk...torres are a good bunch to go with :wink:
