Hi,
I have bought a used Springy Sound a while ago and I was curious how old it was. When I tried to find out I could not find any serial number on the outside of the guitar. There is no number on the headstock or the back plate. So I'm wondering if it's even genuine and if it is how old it is. Maybe you could help me.
If it's not genuine don't worry I love how the guitar plays and sounds. I'm just curious.
It would be great if you could help me.20231006_085256.jpg20231207_132254.jpg20231207_132249.jpg20231207_132241.jpg20231008_145832.jpg20231008_140355.jpg20231008_140335.jpg20231008_140331.jpg

It is tokai, looks like an AST50R from the late 2000s.

I think it’s a 2009. You can barely make out the 09 in the neck pocket. Very cool.

I think I may be seeing an 8 and part of a third 2 digit number with a 0 as well as well.

So it may well have been made August 10, or August 20, or August 30, 2009.

I may be vaguely seeing 09. 8. 20 on the lower line.

This 8 is also August.

T is for Tokai I believe. As opposed to F for Fender which they were building for as well during this period.

I am curious about which pickups you have?

It looks like a special order so it may have nicer pickups than the AST50 had in the early 2000s.

Wow 😲
Thank you for all the information. You have been very helpful. I will take the time and read through all the threads you posted.

Unfortunately I don't have the original pickups so there's no help there. I have Kinman AV-56 in the neck and middle position. In the bridge position I have a Seymour Duncan little '59. Great set for everything from blues and rock to classic metal.
