I was in the same position and thinking that truly positive identification may be impossible. Then one day I loosened the strings and removed the pickup ring screws. When I pulled the pickup assembly away from the body I discovered very clear factory markings of “LS-65” stamped on the body. Hopefully you can identify yours similarly.

The LS-65 stamp would be on a MIJ Tokai. His is Chinese.

It’s a 2014 Chinese John Sykes model. ALS55JS.
