Had this many yrs but not sure particulars… any help would be greatly appreciated.. Has V neck and neck plate is L15572 tks all

Looks like a 1982 ST80R BB. Painted black originally?

Neck & body codes match, 9=10.

"A" on the neck is for the V neck I believe.

Made in the period Tokai made V necks with a rosewood board. 1979-1982.

Yours is the first '82 I have seen.

The middle "E" pickup is original. Looks like someone carved the body before they stripped it and switched the neck (and probably bridge but can't see) pickups to humbuckers?

Pickguard replaced as well.

Here are the specs from the 1982 catalog. The rosewood version ST models were called "Oldie" models for some reason.

The attached translation did not carry over the letter "V" in the neck description, but you can see it in the original Japanese text version.

Color options on the ST80R in 1982 were:
GS -YS - N - OW
BB - FO - MR - MB

BB is black.

Hey, next time you lift the pickguard on this one could you give us the three digit date code on the side of the selector switch? It must be an 82 guitar but the L serial number is really high for 82.
