Epoxy'd Fingerboards

Did JP basses leave the Tokai factory with epoxy-coated fingerboards (or something approximating that)?

The JPs I've seen online look like bare wood fingerboards, with gaps, the grain clearly visible, and no reflections. Don't find a mention of coating in any descriptions. If the factory did produce treated fingerboards, what models?

Can you post pictures so we know what you are talking about as far as gaps, etc.?

Wondering if these are legit MIJ Tokais you are referring to.

Lots of fakes out there.

I misspoke, don't let that distract. I'm not looking at any specific instrument right now.

My question is this: did any JP model come with a factory coated fingerboard? All of them, some of them? If so, which ones?
