Anyone know anything about this one. I may buy this one. The painted headstock is pretty cool. I like it. Thanks

Another one of those consecutive batch things. 5 and 6.

Looks alright. Not sure what the red stuff is on the pickguard?

Looks like it was for sale about a year ago.

Note the codes on this one.

Note that the neck and body codes have a different number in the second position. That seems to further suggest that number relates to something related to how it was made or lot.

Also note the "H' written on the neck. That seems to mean painted Headstock. Also note the color code (OW) is on the neck.

1981 Tokai Springy Sound ST55 *RARE w Matched Headstock MIJ Vintage Stratocaster

Item description from the seller

*If interested in picking up, please contact me before purchasing* or Ready to ship same day of purchase (depending the time) or next day.

Purchased on Reverb mid-2020 and was shipped from Japan 🇯🇵! The original Olympic White finish has aged naturally into a nice creamy yellow! What's RARE is the matching headstock! Very hard to find! I'm ONLY selling because I need the space (thinning the herd, I collect Tokai's). It plays, sounds & feels amazing! The tuners & saddles are "Tokai" stamped & have the original "U" pickups! Everything is original except for the volume pot. That is the ONLY part that was replaced by the previous "original" owner and remains to be the only part replaced.

***FUN FACT*** It's well-known that Stevie Ray Vaughn played a Tokai Springy Sound before Fender! As well as other legendary players!

This guitar features:

Model: ST55

Year: 1981

Body: Alder

Neck profile/radius: 1969 "U" - 7.25"

Neck 1st Fret: .85

Neck 12th Fret: .91

Neck: Maple w Matching Headstock

Pickups: Tokai U-stamped

Guitar weight: 7 lb 9.2 oz

Overall, it is in excellent condition w/no major cosmetic damages. It is very clean for its age and extremely hard to find in this condition. This Tokai has wear that you’d expect from a 42-year-old guitar. Home use only, never gigged and from a pet & smoke free home.

Can you tell me anything about this goldstar? I’m told it is an 84 or 85? Thanks
I can't see the serial number or the decal, but with the U pickups and script logo I would say September 1983 TST50 MR.

I bought it.

You're welcome. I think the neck should be the same as on the matching headstock ST55OW you bought last night?

In 1983/84 the TST60 with the 4 digit serial number should have a V neck. They were not made for very long.

Cool. The switch will have a three digit code on the side of it that will further confirm its age.
