1981 Tokai Springy Sound ST55 *RARE w Matched Headstock MIJ Vintage Stratocaster

Purchased on Reverb mid-2020 and was shipped from Japan
! The original Olympic White finish has aged naturally into a nice creamy yellow! What's RARE is the matching headstock! Very hard to find! I'm ONLY selling because I need the space (thinning the herd, I collect Tokai's). It plays, sounds & feels amazing! The tuners & saddles are "Tokai" stamped & have the original "U" pickups! Everything is original except for the volume pot. That is the ONLY part that was replaced by the previous "original" owner and remains to be the only part replaced.
***FUN FACT*** It's well-known that Stevie Ray Vaughn played a Tokai Springy Sound before Fender! As well as other legendary players!

I can't see the serial number or the decal, but with the U pickups and script logo I would say September 1983 TST50 MR.

Thanks Sigmania. It is nearly mint. I think I’m going to buy it. Metallic red with maple board looks nice. Would it have a U or V neck shape? Becoming a supporting member today. This information is invaluable. Thanks to all for the hard work.
You're welcome. I think the neck should be the same as on the matching headstock ST55OW you bought last night?
In 1983/84 the TST60 with the 4 digit serial number should have a V neck. They were not made for very long.
