LOL. Nope, the pics help to quell my addiction.

I have a sweet 1981 LS100S all mahogany guitar. Amazing guitar.

Not sure which one you have, but someone was on here recently looking for the Joe Walsh LS100S if you have one of those to sell.

Those are beautiful. Are the tops solid or a veneer?

And I see the one is stamped 100. Is the other one marked in some way? Ink stamp in the cavity? Warranty card?

The tops are solid. The OS one is from 1979, hence the stamp. The VF one is a 1981 and still has the imprint of the original sticker:

Nice. I asked because I has a 1981 LS120V VF with a similar top to your '81 but it was a laminate top, I loved that guitar.

Not quite finished reassembling this guitar, but I was quite fortunate to come across this Reborn Old, even though its not 100% original. Previous owner put in a set of Dimarzios ( DP155/DP192 ) so I expect those will be similar to the original Dimarzios. Pots and caps replaced. The guitar came with 4 double ring and 2 single ring tuners, and fortunately I had extra vintage "Deluxe" single rings in my parts bin so it is now sporting a complete set of those. Looks like there was some sort of neck repair/refinish at some point, but the repair was very well done. Unfortunately it also appears the serial number is almost invisible except for one or possibly 2 digits, but the 100 stamp is 100% visible. Really nice top on this one. Hoping to have it up and running in a few days

That’s a beauty.

Are those the newer DiMarzio PAFs? I’ve had a few sets of the vintage ones but have never seen those stickers and the added numbers and such at the bottom. I love my PAFs.

And looks like some pots were changed around 1990 and a little after?

February 1990 or 1980?

IMG_9897.jpeg

Beautiful top. Looks like a sweet catch. Congratulations.

So the DP155 is in the bridge and the Dimarzio site calls them "Tone Zone" - which is supposed to provide fairly high output without fizz or mud. And the DP192 is in the neck position, which they call the "Air Zone" and they claim its got enough "air" to satisfy jazzy players looking for semi-hollow tones. Sounds like a nice combination to me.

I'm thinking the mods ( and maybe the repair ? ) were done in 1990 or after, I'm assuming this is a 1980 build because its a "Reborn Old".

Did you notice the brown finish on the very top of the headstock ? Not sure what that would signify....
