# TOKAI HES-180 Semi-aco / Search: ES-335, ES-180

・HES180 is a higher class line than the regular line ES series, and I think it is difficult to get it even secondhand now.
・I only played it a little after getting it, but I haven't had a chance to sell it since.

The HES180 is a model that is a more vintage version of Tokai's well-established ES series.
In order to get closer to the vintage sound, we profiled the front pickup position from a 50's model. Adopts "The Fifty Nine" pickup newly developed for the HLS series. "The Fifty Nine" is a pickup that has been completed by selecting the individual sound that is considered to be the best among many PAFs and thoroughly "filling the sound" to get closer to the best sound. The coating is an ultra-thin urethane finish that is surprisingly 1/3 thinner than conventional paint. We make the most of the sound, which is important for semi-acoustic guitars.
The neck, which creates the fullness essential to the ES sound, uses a 1-piece mahogany and Madagascar rose fingerboard. delrin nut,
Jescar frets give the sound a brighter start and brightness.

Yes they have, but very few avalaible at the time. Hibikis have a higher quality plastics and hardware (I would bet by Montreaux), stroger sounding pickups and selected woods (just check fretboard on the example above). Also the neck pickup is closer to the end neck as on original 50s.

Regards.
