Hello!

As the headline states, I would like to know if anyone here can tell me the difference between an ES-100 and an ES-150 ...I see no obvious differences but there might be some..or?

Thanks in advance
Mikael Karlsson/Sweden

From when? A (relatively) modern ES100 vs a modern ES150? I believe the 150 is the block inlay version of the 145. A modern ES100 will now be an ES125. It's plain top rather than flame, and doesn't have the nitro topcoat.

Well Alan...I posted it in the before -85 section :)
To narrowing it down, let?s say the -81 or -82 vintages
Best Regards
Mikael

Aha, gotcha - sorry, I didn't see that!

Well, the ES-100 has fret edge binding, a flame finish, and excellent construction, but having never seen a 150 in the flesh I can only imagine it was either pickups, a better grade of flame, or a "proper" maple centre block. There's not much room for improvement there!

Spruce-maple-spruce on the ES100.
My '81 ES100 have a laminated birdseye top and back, maybe the 150 is
solid.
