Amazingly nice top on the LD. Mine is 132.

Thanks... I'm a plaintop guy but that one just did it for me. I've been a Bacchus fan since I got my first vintage series strat (BST64-V) a year or so ago..... liked it so much that I got my hands on another one. Without question, some of the best playing and sounding strats around... period.

And from what I'd heard of the hard to find Vintage Series Les Pauls, just can't pass up one of these. I may have to sell my new Tokai LS150 to fund this madness but we'll see after a side by side cage match between the two of them.

Well I haven't played a Tokai since the late 80's and that was a brief backstage type thing. I was vey impressed though and that was what started me on my Japanse guitar quest that I have been on since. My Buddy Keith Howland is a strat guy and plays in Chicago and I so want him to try a Bucchus Strat as I'm sure he would be converted. But to do that I would have to buy one and that's not happening anytime soon. Let me know how your Bacchus stacks up. My Classic crushes my greco's. Different vibe though. Brand new Vs vintage and the neck is WAY different. But I much prefer the fit in finish on the Bacchus. Just WAY nicer. More tone better tone. Beter feel. etc etc..

Here's a stellar lineup of Bacchi belonging to Rich.... all vintage series and a prototype V...... below that is a photo of a super rare BLS54 goldtop:

You got this ugly one?

That is another amazing unique top. I like the way the growth rings are not straight like on some flametops. I am sure you will love it. Mine is SN# -365 so probably made by the same people at the same time.

I did! Pretty ugly, isn't it? I wanted 365 because it was still available on their site (didnt know that was yours!!)

362 was on hold but that buyer did not decide to go with it so I got it. Can't wait to get my hands on it..... photos and review will follow

Good score! So we got 3 people checking out the new Classic Series now.

To me, that is a good top because it's all over the place with the flame and there's even a couple of little imperfections. Cool. :D

Nice looking MIJ Bacchus SG for a ridiculously cheap price on Ishibashi at the moment:

The headstock is a bit scratched up, but looks good otherwise.

Same here....for the most part, a flame top is a flame top. This one really caught my eye - actually, Wulfman's was the one I was after and this one was on hold for someone else but it came available.

What I'm really excited about is the build and playing quality Bacchus is known for. Can't wait to play it.

Is it the same ishibashi as on ebay? Any advice on how to buy from Rakuten would be apprieciated.

Go to http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/eng/contactus.html and fill in the order form.

You want enquiry number 316943305, name of item BSG-68V/BR-OIL

I have dealt with Ishibashi many times, they are always easy to deal with.

You can keep an eye on used items that they are selling here - www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box , they literally have thousands of items and hundreds of guitars. It's much cheaper to buy used, especially if there's a bit of cosmetic damage as in this case.

Bank on around Yen15000 shipping fees and then add another 20% or so for import duty/vat.

Seems that they do if you spend Yen50,000 or more (not including shipping). Maybe just combine your order with an effects pedal or two, it would still be a killer deal I reckon and you could then on-sell the pedal to someone in the UK if you didn't want it.

I,ve put in a secound enquiry to ishibashi about the SG this time with another guitar to make it over 50K yen (way over) I looked at getting some accesories but there more expensive than in the UK not including taxes. One thing bothers me is that if you go to the english language side of the website you cant find the Bacchus it isn,t on U-box just the webshop, suppose all i can do now is wait
