I?m looking to buy a used MIJ Tokai Love Rock, and would appreciate your opinions and comments on the two guitars I have in mind. Sorry - no pics. I don?t feel comfortable using other people?s pictures without their permission.

(To give you some perspective on the prices in Finland, a new LS75 is about 930 ? and an LS90Q about 950 ?.)

The first candidate is an ebony LS60, made in ?93. It?s got a fair amount of dings and scratches, and especially the headstock has quite a few paint chips. The fretwork is in fairly good shape and the electronics are said to be working fine. As far as the seller can tell, it?s all stock.
The seller is asking 500 ? for it. Does that sound ok, or is it a bit high?

I?m also looking at a violin finish LS90 (not quilted, looks like plain maple to me) from 2007. The model is made for the Japanese market, and has the dimple headstock. However, it hasn?t got the ?Love Rock? text on the headstock. I?m new to the Tokai brand, so I don?t know what that means, or if it means anything at all :) The guitar is in nice condition with only a few belt buckle scratches on the back, it has a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge (the stock bridge pickup is included) and comes in a hardshell Gator case. The seller is asking 675 ? for the guitar.

Comments?

The guitars made for the domestic Japanese retail don't have the dimple...only the guitars to be sold in the Northern Hemisphere have the dimple.

Ok thanks, that's good to know. I haven't seen a Love Rock before with the model name missing. Any comments?

The LS90 looks very nice in the picture I found about it.

I asked more pictures from the owner and I can comment those for you in m-net if you wish.

The LS60 looks quite beaten up.
