Guitar has arrived and overall in better condition than expected :D .I was able to remove some of the glue from the fretboard repair but still needs some additional work. Also, the prior touch-up on the body side rubbed off fairly easily and looks much better.
The guitar weighs 8lb 13 oz and appears to have a one piece back and top, both mahogany....the acetone test was clearly positive and the board I think is ebony. All the hardware is gold and looks to be original. The frets are bound and the neck is on the thin side like my 1983 ls80.The top and back are pretty clean with only a nick on the neck and body side. The binding has yellowed and looks great.

If anyone has any suggestions on cleaning up the prior board repair I would appreciate the advice or maybe even have it done professionally??

Thanks Mark
I tend to agree.Do you think it would have to be lifted to repair correctly.I dont know of any techs for cosmetic repairs but I guess I could search the internet if needed.I think I found a near perfect match on the paint from my taxidermist  .....he uses a gold flake lacquer for air brushing on his fish that matches near perfect and could be adjusted.I have ordered some just in case.

Is that Fake58 Julian Mullen?

Beautiful LP Hunter. That looks like ebony indeed. And the pots have been changed in 1987 :)

Thanks Jacco, how can you tell the pots are replacements?

Because it's a 1985 LP and it has 1986 & 1987 pots in it.
There's 2 types of pots in your LP, 1 type is the one with pot codes. The first digit of the bottom row is the year of manufacture of the pot.

Thanks for the info Jacco, looks to be identical and better shape.did you buy it.........apparently the seller of mine was a bit misleading, but the specs seemed to justify his listing. No problem as I love the guitar anyhow and would have probably bought this one also :)

No I didn't buy it, our friend the Phantom did :D
