I just picked this up. I've been looking for a Tokai. I was planning on saving seven or eight hundred dollars to get a Springy, but I found this one locally at a price too good to pass up. Just thought I'd let you see it and see what your thoughts are. I'd be interested in any info you have about this model guitar. I think the tuners are aftermarket. I'm not sure about the bridge and saddles. As far as I can tell everything else is from the factory, but I'm new to the world of Tokais.
I think it's an '84, but it seems some with this headstock may have shown up in '83.
Any suggestion for cleaning up the corrosion on the saddles?
Anybody know what kind of wood the body is made of or what I need to look at to know?
Does this look like an orgional trem? I thought it should have Tokai stamped on the saddles.
