I've been collecting Tokai pedals for some time now. Today I won an ebay auction for my first Tokai Guitar, a TST 62. I was actually suprised to win at that price, lately Tokai's have been going for more than that on Ebay. heres the auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3715457578

From the info here at Teh Tokai Registry it looks like the logo is from before lawer inspired changes, but the headstock is post changes. Should this make sense? After the guitar arrives I can do some serial number dating, but is there any way to guess an age just by looking at the pics?

Also, does anyone know the diffrence between a TST and an AST? Both designation were used in the 80's it looks like, I just can't tell if there's any diffrence.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

As a general rule:

A=American ST=Strat
T=Tokai ST=Strat

AST was for USA market altough I get mine AST-56 from Japan :eek: .Altered heastock.Custom Editions has got altered headstock too.

TST were Goldstar models(Fender headstock shape).
