Help Identifying My Tokai Les Paul

Hello all!

I am glad to have found this forum, hopefully some more experienced Tokai owners/enthusiasts may be able to lend a hand.

Pictured is a Tokai Les Paul that I purchased between 06-09 I believe, it was my 'backup guitar' so it came to shows in a hardcase and sat side stage before being loaded up again and taken home, maybe used in the studio a handful of times but really my everyday guitar was my Tokai SG (not pictured).

I've recently been going through my gear with a view to parting from the pieces I have never justified owning with their sparse use and I am looking to get an accurate gauge of a second hand value on this guitar - I have tried searching for the Serial Number but failed to find many exact results which could help me. If anyone here is able to points me in a direction or provide any advice on what model this is/the exact specs etc so that I can try to come up with an idea of the second hand value that would be much appreciated.

I will say that I do still have the scratch plate/attachment and screw in the hardcase, just not pictured. I can't remember why it was removed but it was probably an aesthetic choice when I was a younger man..

Hi there.

It is Chinese obviously. Made in 2008. Possibly by Fine Corp? Possibly because the font on the serial number is the same as the FC serial numbers in 2005-2007.

The trouble is that it seems to be a model not in any Tokai catalogs.

It is similar to an ALC53 (2007) or ALC50 (2009) but your color is see thru red (SR) it looks like.

Thanks for the response - I had the colour down as 'Wine Red' due to similar listings such as this - looking almost identical (though the serials are not clear, it's my assumption that these links are for Japanese made models).

Thanks for sharing those snippets from the catalogues of similar models - so it's an as yet unconfirmed model - presumed to be an ALC50 or ALC53. Are those catalogue snippets anywhere in better quality so that I can read the hardware specs detailed on them?

Is there a way of me identifying the hardware on them as separate items? If it's safer not to presume it's an ALC50 or 53.

It could be wine red. Hard to say since it is not in a catalog. WR is traditional for Customs.

And that is all I have for catalogs. They aren't my scans so I can't boost the resolution.

And looks like it says Agathis for the body wood. I had not noticed that before.

Yours may be different wood since it is stained and not painted. Maybe Nato? Hard to see from the pictures.
