A bit unfair to compare the one-piece honduran body Tokai in price to the standard Gibson USA models. I'm sure the Tokai still comes in cheaper than the 1 piece body Gibson Custom Shop models.

^ +1

I mean the tokais aren't as good value as they were (stupid strong yen), but they're normally still a bit cheaper than comparable gibsons. I'm not saying you should never buy a gibson or anything like that, but i grow tired of the "for that money you can get a gibson, why would you buy a tokai?" responses as if all gibsons are equal. Yes, there are plenty of tokais which cost as much as a gibson (plenty cost more  ), but they normally are comparable to the higher-end gibsons which also cost more.

also, that dude in the vid could play

ah right ok, thanks

i guess that makes me feel a little better (i.e. he's a certified badass, not just some random dude online)

Yep he can play! You can tell he really loves the sound and feel and cant stop playing.

It is really weird as I just got into a player from the 80's Blues Saraceno and he can really play too but maybe not the same style. check it out, some great pedals that his dad makes too.
