Ive just bought a white goldstar sound, 1984 I think. But it is missing the trem arm. Will any old trem arm fit or are there different sizes etc? Any help appreciated.

Also how can I identify the specific year and model of the guitar? it has a maple neck, serial number 17966.

Im a noob here and a noob to tokai guitars, so expect more basic questions to come...

We need pics to identify it. There have been a couple of white maple neck ST40s sold recently in the UK (not that we know where you are.....), & pics of the tuners & pickup bottoms will help to ID what it is.

Ok, got some pics done. Any info on this guitar appreciated, as I know nothing about Tokai. Tuners say 'deluxe' on the back. I've just ordered a trem arm for it, 5mm thread, hope it fits OK.

It would be nice to see pics of the back of the tuners, & the back of the neck where it joins the body, along with the serial number on the neckplate. But if it says DELUXE on the tuners, it looks like a standard ST50 from 1984/85 ish - the most common model, & probably a very nice guitar. It partly depends where you are - you haven't told us that yet. Models changed at different times for different markets.

It's a pretty authentic copy of a late 50s Strat, which can't be a bad thing.

The colour code in the body is confusing me though - it looks like SW? I would have expected OW for Olympic White. Can anyone explain this?

Hi, yes I started a new thread as this one was slipping down the page and no-one seemed to be reading it.

People were reading it. If you want to put your post back up at the top of the list, all you have to do is reply to it with something like "bump" - meaning to bump it back to activity.

Duplicate posts are confusing - to you and to forum members.

Im still looking for a trem for this guitar. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know.

I bought a couple from axesrus recently but neither fit, and they only have the two sizes.

The 5mm thread was too small and the 5.7mm thread was too big.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.
