I guess threre are three roads one can take: buy it because the sentimental value (closely linked to what we know as GAS) is what matters to you, buy because you think you get some real value for THAT price, which I personally cannot tell because I never lay my hands on a 1200, keep away from it...

Although I have made good experiences with vintage MIJ guitars so far, I just don't think you can say it's good just because it's old. There are top sounding guitars today and there were in the past. It is all so subjective. Talking about that (vintage) vibe and feel (equals: sound + playing...

There is a Tokai in some kind of dark red burst on ebay.de at the moment, seller has customised this one with Gibson 57 PUs and a aluminum tailpiece. says it is a one-piece body, incl. case, looks very neat and in real good condition, very nice finish - BTW he offered me a reasonable BIN price...

In fact, I was talking about the RR&5 from villager when I posted this - and I bought it from him today so I'll let you know when she arrives, might need a bit of clean up, but when she's cleaned and set up I'll post some pics. Thanks anyway for your help, cheers, Klaus
