I assume this is one of those Chinese things, a Richwood? I sent the seller a message, politely pointing out that his guitar wasn't a Tokai, and this is his reply:

"hi thats y i advertised it as a built guitar never once said it was real so best read the discriptions better in future then you wouldnt of made yourself look stupid cheers"

A "built" guitar? WTF? So he sells a nasty looking fake, and he thinks I look stupid?

Does Tokai have a way of getting these ads pulled, the same way that Fender & Gibson do?

Mike

No he's not. Clowns perform a useful function, and some of them are even funny. This piece of lowlife is neither funny not useful

Well, he just got caught out again, this 'sounds' familiar, it's what he won for 40 quid, and I think it's the same one he is trying to sell, pity about the rattle on the d string........

Well, if he hadn't insulted me (twice), I might not have reported it....

He still has this one listed though. It's even less convincing than the Tokai!

not any more he doesn't

I'm missing all the fun. Each time, as soon as I get here, the questionable auction has already been pulled.

Well eBay are being remarkably efficient here, and it's not often you hear the words "efficient" and "eBay" in the same sentence. I suspect they may have had issues with this seller before. The items were pulled, relisted then pulled again, all within one day.

If you want to keep an eye on this, have a look at the car he's selling:

You can check from this what other items he has for sale; if there is a fake Tokai or Fender, please let eBay know - there's no point in telling the seller they're fake, as he knows that already.

It's still a fraudulent use of the Stratocaster name, which is a Fender trademark. And those guitars are no more Fenders than they are Tokais. He does seem to be getting a bit desperate, doesn't he? At least it's unlikely that anybody will be scammed into buying them the way they're advertised now!

Fake or not?

It is not a fake. It is a pretty example of an original 1982 PB80 '57model.
One pcs. body, ALU pickguard. The price is a bargain
