First off I've spent a lot of time searching the archives for my answer.
I've been able to determine that my strat was made in 1985.

The code on inside of the body reads: 1 1 3=2 CR. The body is indeed red.
the neck is maple w/ rosewood board.

Can someone conrfirm this?

The headstock is correct for the year. the only thing i havn't been able to verify is the pups.

The catalog 1985-6 description is California Accurate Reproduction. the wiring and switches all seem to be correct, however the pickups have a grey backing with no stamp to be found. I've read that the pickups usually have a stamp.

With the exception of these pickups not being original, has anyone experienced or seen this before?

I also understand that the bodies are ash from this year?

thanks in advance for your help in verifiing this guitar.

It's rather difficult to ID anything we haven't seen. Pics, my friend, pics!

Sorry, no pics. Should be able to ID w/o them. Still looking for an answer.... pickups have grey backing only, no stamp or id of any kind

How are we supposed to identify something we can't see....
A lot of pickups can be identified by what they look like, certain manufacturers have distinguishing marks or construction traits.

Pics would be a good idea.
