I ended up with the Super Edition that Sig posted on January 24th - here are some more photos. Final Prospec saddles on this one - I'm thinking its an SD40 ?

Thanks for posting those.

Are there any numbers on the pots? They may give us the mfr date when combined with the production codes.

As far as the model number, with these and some Custom Editions that came in different pickup configurations by 1986 the last digit of the model number related to the pickups.

1 was SSS
2 was HH
3 was HSS

So if it’s from 1985/86 I think it would probably be called a TSD403 ASWR (all over Snow White rosewood board).

I don't have it apart at the moment but there is a corner of the tone pot in this photo that I think is 44-something. The others don't seem to have any numbers at all. I'll be taking it apart again soon as now that its been here in dry Alberta for awhile the neck has definitely moved. That humbucker pick up is kinda crappy - fortunately I have several options there. The single coils are okay...

Oh cool. That gives us a date. April 1984 on the two pots I can see.

Date code on the body is December.

That’s a bigger spread than I would expect but not unheard of.

Probably December 1984 production date on the guitar.

So if it’s a 1984 they used an earlier system for describing models and the pickup configuration.

TST and SD for Super Edition models, though confusing to know which was which.

Looks like SD for guitars with two pots, and TST for guitars with 3?

“HS” instead of the “3” after the 40.

That said, it’s probably a late 1984 TST40HS ASWR.

1984 Vol. 10 catalog
