I bought a Tokai. Please tell me about this Tokai Goldstar Sound. I searched a lot of information on the Internet and couldn’t find the closest one. Is it Tokai AST100 OR AST 88? Can you help me identify it?

Looks like it has the Fender correct shape headstock? Hard to tell with the angle. If it does, it is a TST rather than an AST

Have you done an acetone test in a hidden area to see if it is lacquer? In 2012 the AST/TST100 had a lacquer finish.

I will update some photos. I tried acetone but no response. I think the guitar is a lower-end TST-50 or something. I can confirm that it is TWO PIECES, but is it Ash OR Alder? Can you tell that the BODY is original? Thank you.

Yep. It all looks correct for the time period.

And it would not be a TST50 in this time period.

If it is not lacquer, then likely TST70 with specs like the AST70 shown in the catalog shot I attached above.

Color is Vintage White (VWH).

The only thing I am confused about is the stamp in the neck pocket. 24. 8. 04 These are often date stamped in this era, but it doesn't fit a date pattern, so it must be something else. The 8. 04 (August 4th) could be the date a certain process happened like cutting the blank or paint, and then finished in September.

So technically made/finished in September 2012 based on the other stamps.

2012 TST70 VWH

So these should be the specs:

BODY: Alder
NECK: Maple
FINGERBOARD: Maple or Rosewood
BRIDGE: ST-VK2 Tremolo
PICKUPS : ST Vintage MK3 x 3
CONTROLS: 1V, 2T, 5 way switch
COLORS: GS, BB, VWH, MR, LPB

And I am not sure what the E stands for. Typically we see T or F for Tokai or Fender.

It is possible this is part of a special order? Maybe in Europe? Maybe Germany for example?
