Just logging these bling’d out Hummingbirds.

So far the ones I’ve seen serial numbers for seem to be from 2007.

Seemingly not in any catalogs at the time, but they were most likely made in China. They demand a higher price (80,000 yen presumably) than most Chinese models because of the fancy inlays.

HB = Hummingbird
T = traditional 000/OM body shape
D = dreadnought body shape
E = electric with cutaway T or D body
N = natural finish

Owner is saying it was made in Japan. I can't confirm that. More likely China.

Tokai Hummingbird T80 acoustic f/s uk

hi folks. i'm selling my Japanese Tokai Hummingbird acoustic guitar which is virtually in mint condition since i haven't had the time to play it since i bought it. i bought it brand new recently. it comes with a good quality Tokai padded gig bag. absolutely stunning guitar, i've never held one as spectacular looking as this & she has a voice to match her looks. unfortunately i don't have time to play anymore so can't really justify holding on to her. so she's looking for a new home if anyone is interested?
here's a picture of the actual guitar.

Seller is claiming in was made in Hamamatsu. A common assumption people make because the labels say Hamamatsu Japan on all Tokai acoustics, but that is simply to companies home office.

Tokai HBD80 accoustic hummingbird | #271341870

For sale is a very rare tokai HBD80 hummingbird with a tree of life neck inlay. I have never seen one of these for sale since I bought this one around two years ago. The action is set low and it has a lovely tone, in fact it is very nice all round dreadnought acoustic. Comes with a hardcase. I am sadly selling as I need to downsize my collection, I'm keeping my Martin only. The guitar has a solid engleman spruce top, rosewood side and back, mahogony neck, rosewood fingerboard and neck, abalone pearl binding. Its japanese made at hammatsu factory. In other words quality.

TOKAI HUMMINGBIRD ELECTRIC ACOUSTIC GUITAR | #273559345

For sale my beautiful Tokai Hummingbird electric acoustic guitar all wood quality built, as used by Brian May of Queen,.She looks(pic's dont do her justice), plays and sounds great,loud with nice low action, No fret wear as only played at home a couple of time and only once through an amp(to loud for my neighbours),due to my fat little fingers I moved on to playing classical guitar while this baby just sat in its stand (which is,nt included in the sale) got a ding on the headstock,highlighted in pic 6,decided to sell before she got anymore damage. She comes with her original fitted hardcase.

A little bit of info on Tokai Gakki, They started out replicating Gibson and Martin guitars,so well made were the replica,s that Martin went into partnership with them in 1972/73 to make acoustic guitar parts and build solid body SIGMA guitars for them.

The boring stuff.

Tokai Hummingbird Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

This is Tokai's Chinese made version of their Hummingbird acoustic complete with the fancy neck inlays. Tokai's Chinese guitars are some of the best we have come across and this (slightly rarer) acoustic is no exception being well built and finished. This is a good all rounder which has a tone which is equally suited to finger-picking or strumming. The guitar has a spruce top, rosewood back and sides and a mahogany neck. This is end of line stock hence the price (normally £399) and the guitar is new but out of the box. We will put it in a gig bag to ship. Shipping will be as swift and efficient as we can make it and we can ship abroad if need be (e-mail us for a quote)
