I've been planning to make another short notice trip to Japan before christmas, this time to Nagoya (my girlfirend flies there as a crew member). If I get the ticket and some cheap accomodation, I'm sure I will travel.

Does any of you nice collagues here know anything about Nagoya, especially any guitarshops (of course) but also other stuff to do there (theatre, music, museums, sights etc.).

My main interest is used stuff, I have been considering a second hand Greco or Tokai LP, if I find one that I like for a price I can afford (about 100 000 yeni). Also if there are other activities that are recommendable, I'm all ears. I'm going to stay there for 5 nights.

Thanks in advance! :D

It really depends what your interests are...I've been to Nagoya
I'm a martial artist(training for 40 years) and the Tokugawa museum is there...it houses treasures and artifacts from the Tokugawa Shogunate...so if you're into the Samurai it's THE place to go....The Tokugawa Art Museum preserves and exhibits the belongings of the Owari, who in terms of wealth were surpassed by only four of the nearly 200 feudal domains of the Edo Period. The exhibits include warrior armors, swords, tea utensils, no masks and costumes, poems, scrolls and maps.
Sakae is the shopping district but I don't recall any music stores...mind you i WAS on a karate tour not a guitar tour...lol

Thanks Ozeshin!

Yeah, I'm also into samurai stuff, even thought I don't do any martial arts. My hip joint is injured quite badly and I need to be careful, unfortunately. But I do play RPG's...

Thanks for the hints! But I guess there has to be some guitarshops there also...

Not a problem at all! Thank you so much! What a selection! Big Boss and Ishibashi alone are just huge. It's crazy surfing these japanese sites, you just need to guess where you're going. I'm doing ok though...

I really need to get there, I just hope there is room on the flights. I'm flying with my girlfriends staffmember tickets (really cheap) so I can't be sure if I can get onboard. Let's hope!

Thanks again Mick! (now I'M having a gas attack!)
