Shipping a guitar from the US to the UK for some repairs. What is the best carrier and what do I claim so the shop doesn't have to pay taxes?

USPS is good.... make sure you check the size limitations when you're looking for a box.

As for taxes, you could just say damaged guitar and put the value real low.

I have no clue how it works between UK and US but we have in europe the situation that switzerland is not EU member what means transfer costs custom taxes. In such cases you have to fill a paper or the dealer in switzerland has to do it.He has to pay taxes if I send a guitar for repair and when he sends the guitar back to me and this is confirmed he will get the taxes back.Could work between other countries as well.
