You won't find another Tokai Springy Sound like this one. The person I bought it from believed it to be a custom order ST100, but was unable to verify it. It has the gold furniture which only featured on the ST100 and you can just feel the quality of the components. Red nitro finish on body, neck and headstock. Neck is a chunky 50s profile and the whole guitar just resonates beautifully, even unplugged. Gold hardware (faded). Large solid tremolo block and original tremolo arm (both gold). Pickguard assembly replaced with Seymour Duncan SSL1 loaded pickguard. I absolutely love these pickups! See my other auction for the original pickguard loaded with the coveted "E" stamped Tokai pickups. Ships in a battered but perfectly serviceable Hiscox hard case.
Comparing the wood grain, this last one with the white pickguard is evidently SN 0000003 with a new white pickguard assembly as noted in the listing above.
So it went from villager to Andyscott to this guy who then sold it to someone else on eBay.
All of them calling it an ST100 it looks like. The bodies are 2 piece though. I’m thinking unknown model from special order or limited run of some kind. Probably ST65-85 price range.
Would be helpful to know if it’s a poly or lacquer finish.
Custom ST 100 from 1979. Bought from Mark at several years ago. The pictures show everything. No reserve. No case but will be boxed properly. Shipping is set at £50 but if it's less I'll refund the difference.10 day auction.Feel free to ask any questions.Cheers,Andy. Edit: Hmm, I did set a 10 day auction but it seems to have reverted to a 7 day one. I'll leave it at 7 days. Edit: I can't alter the shipping amount for some reason but it's £25. The final bill will reflect this. Cheers, Andy.
