I'm not sure it was a special run of guitars for these years, just that Tokai got a bonus shipment of wood from whoever they buy their wood from in Canada. You can read more about it here.

I've read :

" We import the flamed maple tops directly from Canada for LS150, 200 and 320. We want to sell a large quantity of solid figured maple top models and we reduce the price and introduce LS150 model. We use 5A maple top for LS200 and LS320 and 3A for LS150. But actually our Canadian supplier supplied 4A maple to us. So now LS150 is good to buy."

So, it's not 2A or 3A maple top as I have read on other site, for the LS 150 (2005) ?
 
I am far from an expert on what exactly makes a maple top 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A etc. but it appears that during 2005 there were 4A solid maple tops on at least some Japanese LS-150's.
