1990s Split Diamond LC Gallery

Just collecting examples of this later version of the split diamond.

I have not found them in catalogs and wonder if they are a limited Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) version?

The few examples I have seen are also staggered in time. So possibly special limited runs? Hard to know.

This one is confusing.

It has the inner split diamond that we see on the 90s LC examples.

I am wondering if this split diamond was used for the Japanese Domestic Market at the same time the 4 pointed diamond was used internationally?

The seller thinks it is from the 1990s::

This is a TOKAI Les Paul Custom for sale. I think the snake pattern is rare.

The serial number is from 1985, but I think the Les Paul Custom was made in 1995.

It's very easy to play and the sound is perfect.
This is subjective, but the neck is not shaved.

I think there are about 70% of the frets left.

Like the original Gibson, it has fret-edge binding.
The head has a diamond inlay.

It will be a set neck.

There are some scratches and paint peeling off the gold parts due to age, but it can still be used.

Weight is approximately 3.7 kg.

Here is a Greco with the same inner split diamond (or "double split diamond" as brokentoes called it).

Note that the inner split rectangle is in the opposite direction from the Tokais.

Definitely not a Tokai build based on the tab routs, but interesting similarity.
