"Special Release Tokai Super edition that was released in very limited numbers between 1984-86 in Japan. Never seen another one and probably never will. Great guitar that as soon as you pick it up feels like quality. The 70 and up guitars from Tokai during this period were outstanding. Alder body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard, Extra Tokai tremolo system, slick red metallic finish and specially designed humbuckers that sound excellent".

"Rare Japanese Special Release Tokai Super edition that was released in very limited numbers between 1984-86 - The 70 and up guitars from Tokai during this period were outstanding! Alder body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, Extra Tokai tremolo system, Kluson style tuners, no real fretware and the neck plays and feels Great! Plays like a great strat with humbuckers, you get all the bell like tones clean and when distorted it's awesome.
MODIFICATIONS: It’s had the pickups changed with very powerful ‘Entwistle White’s.. they sound awesome! At some point It did have 7x micro switches fitted to split the coils out of phase single coil etc, now has a sticker over the remaining holes (see photos) The pickups are soldered to the pots as straight Humbuckers with 2x volume 1x tone, but if required/on request I can put a ‘pull-pot to split the pick ups to Humbuckers/single coils. The locking nut has also been removed being pointless having one in the first place! It has NO micro tuners so once it was locked you couldn’t tune it! So there you go, basically a power strat, the neck has a great feel and balance, sounds great and considering its age overall it’s in great condition. Weighs in about 3.8kg fully set up and ready to play - Comes in an old, shaped 1970s plush-lined hard case."

"Up for sale super rare MIJ Tokai superstrat from 1984. All original hardware and electronics, finish has a few dings and a lacquer chip near neck pickup but overall condition is really nice for its age.

Body is alder, neck is maple with light coloured rosewood fretboard, back of the neck shows some flamey figuring under the light.

Neck is straight, frets are in good shape (although they are short and narrow from the factory - has a vintage feel).

Factory pickups are interesting - they are pretty hot measuring around 18k each, but voicing is more paf-like imo. Complete with original thin engraved plastic covers (zebra bobbins are hidden underneath)."
