Isn't the 53 a ALC?
The custom looky likeys
I have a black one here in the shop, they are dead nice!! HERE
Spec, IIRC is:
Agathis body
Maple top
Maple set neck
PAF Mk4 pickups
The mian difference apart from looks to my mind on these over the standard LS 48/50 series is that the pickups are much "darker" sounding, slightly scooped-out-mid sounding, the sound of the others is quite a lot brighter so they are without doubt different guitars, its not just in the looks. _________________

Hi Jamie, thanks for the reply.I have an ALC53 in vintage white,it's defo an ALS53 i mean.
I'm just wondering if it may be the lefty version of the ALS48,but that would indicate a higher price, something Tokai doesn't do.
If i knew how to post a link i would. |

Hmmm.. I am not sure about the ALS53 then!
I have come across ALS48s and 50s of course, but not 53s! _________________

Thanks, togps, but that now begs the question.
Do Tokai charge more for their lefties?
I take it the Korean model names are also linked to cost. |

I just picked up a Tokai Les Paul Custom ALS-53. Cherry Sunburst.
I have found that they can be recognised by the different shape on the top of the headstock.
It also has gold hardware and black control knobs.
It's Made in China with a 6 digit serial number inked on the back of the headstock.
When I figure out how to post a photo - I will
Mine is like this one

Made in China provide a number of resources so that companies can trade successfully with manufacturers that create products in China. Worldwide trade can be confusing, complex and expensive. Made in China understands this reality and makes it as easy as possible for all businesses to study how to deal effectively and efficiently. An advantage of being a member of Made in China means that you can trade with a lot of the information that businesses have even if you are the really small business.
Thanks & regards,
