Im looking to buy myself a stratocaster from the 80?s.

No lower end models. Cosmetics doesnt really matter too much.
Im looking for a strat with C shape neck, 50s, 60s (pretty open with the yr)
SSS pickups. Something that sound and plays great.

SE600, 700, 800,
ST-80, JV strat, and so on.

Does anyone have anything for sale?

Im living in Sweden so if its outside, you should be able to ship overseas.

Thanks!

MOJO HOBO

Hi there, thanks for your post mate :)

To be honest.. I just got back from a dude and bought myself a Squier domestic ST-115, 62, JV strat for $1000. I loved it, it felt and sounded really good. Nice flame neck, just refretted with a bit bigger, but not jumbo.
Feels like a great deal to me?

Yeah, the JV's seem to be garnering alot of money these days....I've never done an A / B comparison between one and a Springy - like an ST80.

I used to have a JV65 and an ST80, build quality on the JV was right up there with the Tokai, and I preferred the pickups on the JV. Great guitars! Never played a 115 but would imagine it's pretty special!

there are no squire 115's..

I was reading somewhere that there should be some 115, but when I read around a bit more, it seem like its the ones with the Fender logo that are made in a couple of models. However, squier jv, did they only come in 57/62, export/domestic, and then in different colours?

When I get back from Uni i will take some photos on it!

Have a great day

I've got a ST-100 Springy, ST62-115 & ST57-85 JV Strats. These JV's are better than than the Tokai in stock condition. Change the Pickups and the tremolo on the Toaki and there's no difference, only player preference.

I am a bit confused now. chrisheyes, does your ST62-115 have the Squier or Fender logo on the headstock? However, your result sounds good, comparing st-100 and a JV strat.

All of mine are have Fender on the Headstock, check out their details from the JV Forum Registry. Your better off searching that forum for details on your strat

okey, ive taken some photos on the guitar now. you can check it out here.
Intressting is that it says 115 on top of the neck, or if its 11 5, like a date, but its already dated on side . Also its stamped D in the neckpocket. Its pictures of the wireing and all.

I would be pretty sure that's not a 115, as Villager said they didn't make one with a Squier logo, I hope you didn't pay a 115 price for it!

OOpps sorry about that marcus

The JV Forum has a registry, here's some updated links

ST-62-115

http://www.21frets.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1237582105/

ST-57-85

http://www.21frets.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1237496206/

ST-62-85

http://www.21frets.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1237495199/

Scroll down towards the bottom of the link below, it indicates that the D stamp denotes a domestic market JV Squire

http://www.21frets.com/squier_jv/jvdetails_2.htm

?D = stamp = Polyester finish, Japanese pickups, and all Squier logo.

Do an acetone test on the paint finish in the neck pickup cavity. A 115 or 85 would have nitro paint

no, I paid just under 1000usd for it. But im really happy with it. It sounds great. Ive read around and it seem like they only made 115 in the fender ones. Looked at 21frets and it seem to be a SST50.

Saw your gats, they look great. What a shame that some stole one of yours, I will def contact you if I see it around, even on the net.

It's all good then! The JV's are great guitars as you now know! enjoy :D
