Ok...so I came across a sweet 1977 Greco LP Std (s/n D777xxx). One piece body, set 3 piece neck (maple?), great burst finish with a nice subtle flame. It's all original and played/sounded better that 99% of the Les Pauls that I've ever picked up (I've owned at least 10 myself).

Any thoughts on the value? Any Greco love out there?

Here are some pics:

35 views and no replys yet :(. Anyway, the s/n is D777xxx. Does this mean it was made at the Fujigen factory?

Any help would be appreciated. It's a sweet guitar but I surely don't want to overpay for it...

'70's Grecos can be nice guitars, but not really true Les Paul copies, are you sure it's not a pancake body (check from the side to see if it's made from multiple laminates) I'd say $600ish would be a fair price

Definitely not a pancake body. That is actually my biggest pet peeve and I wouldn't consider it if it did. It actually appears to be a one piece body (didn't notice any seams at all).

Are you a dealer looking to take this on a trade?

Nope, I just found this at a local shop and am looking to buy it.

Cool.... what are they asking for it? I'm thinking in the $500 - $600 range too. Is it heavy?

It weighs in at 9.5 lbs. They're asking $900 for it. Some people have told that's a fair price while others are saying it's high. I just don't want to get ripped off. It is an awesome guitar though...

Probably not one of Greco's best or most desired offerings. But could be a nice guitar, especially since you have the chance to play it before buying.
