As I'm rather new to the Tokai frenzy, I noticed that the Hard Puncher basses sell for much lower prices than any other MIJ early Tokai. Aren't they desirable at all for collectors? I mean, I can buy an early eighties PB60 any day for less than $280. They are made in Japan, aren't they?

I have had several MIJ Hard Punchers, and they are excellent. Same high quality as the Springy & Goldstar S types of the era. Basses always seem to be cheaper than their 6 string counterparts though. I dont think you will get a better P-Bass than an early Tokai. (IMO of course)

I agree! The Jazz Sound basses are also excellent.
