some orville by gibson have scarf joints

I just found out that not only some orvilles don't come with the long tenon but some of them have scarf joints where the neck meets the body...

there are some examples online too...

I sometimes get the feeling many people see scarf joints as a bad thing, which is not true, they don't change the resonance of the guitar (at least not in a perceptible way, believe me you won't notice a thing) and they make the neck much stronger, especially when used at the headstock and we all know that's one of the weak spots of a les paul
 
Those were great pics.

Having just had an experience with another dealer who wouldn't/didn't even provide me with one picture I requested of some damage from another angle I appreciate both the number and quality of those.
 
Oh sure that is great and all, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the guitar was advertised as something it is not
